During the Market:
03.50 pm. Nifty closed weak at 4711 with a loss of 38 points. The correction is a time to enter for those who are left out. The market breadth was negative with Advance/Decline at 20/30. The top gainers were STER, ICICIBANK, RELCAPITAL, TATAMOTORS & GRASIM, while the top losers were RCOM, SUZLON, IDEA, BHARTIARTL & RELINFRA.

02.48 pm. Nifty at 4741 with Advance/Decline at 28/22. The top gainers are STER, PNB, ICICIBANK, RELCAPITAL & IDFC, while the top losers are RCOM, BHARTIARTL, IDEA, TATAPOWER & WIPRO.

01.53 pm. Nifty has broken the resistance at 4748 and now the next resistance is at 4695, then at 4660,there after the next resistance is much lower at 4620.

01.28 pm. Nifty at 4783 and Advance/Decline is at 37/13, now 4825 may prove a new resistance.

12.27 pm. Nifty is very slowly and steadily losing the early morning gains to trade at 4810 with Advance/Decline at 42/8. The top gainers are STER, PNB, UNITECH, IDFC & TATASTEEL, while the top losers are BHARTIARTL, RCOM, IDEA, TATAPOWER & RELIANCE.

11.09 am. Nifty at 4827 is moving in a tight range with Advance/Decline at 41/9 lacking commitment.

10.08 am. Nifty has opened strong in conformity to the global cues, otherwise also it was looking forward to some reason to stop correction. The Nifty is trading at 4841 after touching 4853. The Advance/Decline is poised at 45/5. The top gainers are STER, UNITECH, TATASTEEL, HINDALCO & IDFC, while the top losers are TATAPOWER, ONGC, BPCL, HINDUNILVR & HCLTECH.

03.40 pm. Nifty closed at 4750 with a loss of 75 points over previous close. Apprehension has taken place of caution, investors have become wary of carrying forward their positions. The Nifty has closed on a very dismal note with Advance/Decline at 11/39. The top gainers were M&M, RANBAXY, BPCL, ONGC & GAIL, while the top losers were DLF, RCOM, RELCAPITAL, UNITECH & RPOWER.

02.40 pm. Nifty making an effort to even out the losses with Advance/Decline at 25/25. Its a weak effort.

01.54 pm. Nifty trading at 4794 and Advance/Decline at 17/33. The top gainers are HCLTECH, RANBAXY, BPCL, AMBUJACEM & SUNPHARMA, while the top losers are DLF, UNITECH, RCOM, JINDALSTEL & BHEL.

11.34 am. Nifty is trading in a tight range at 4773 with Advance/Decline at 13/37.

10.28 am. Nifty opened weak and slid to 4738, there after it improved to 4784 with Advance/Decline at 11/39. The top gainers are BPCL, RANBAXY, GAIL, HINDUNILVR & SUNPHARMA, while the top losers are TATAMOTORS, UNITECH, MARUTI, RCOM & CAIRN.

During the Market:
03.39 pm. Nifty closed at 4826 with a loss of 20 points over previous close. Since Nifty has broken the crucial support level of 4820 in today's session it is expected to linger the negativity. Nifty tried to close flat but the market breadth remained negative as Advance/Decline at 19/31 lacked support. Reality stocks witnessed some covering up. The top gainers were RANBAXY, JINDALSTEL, WIPRO, BHARTIARTL & TATAMOTORS, while he top losers were MARUTI, TATASTEEL, SUZLON, HDFC & BPCL.

02.20 pm. Nifty at 4811 and Advance/Decline at 16/34 but the reality sector which was hammered the most in the near past is showing signs of recovery due to short covering. The top gainers now are BHARTIARTL, TATAMOTORS, WIPRO, UNITECH & LT, while the top losers are MARURTI, HDFCBANK, HDFC, ITC & TATASTEEL.

01.28 pm. Nifty at 4832 trying to muster support of short-covering to come above the previous close. Although the Advance/Decline is at 18/32 still it is expected that the short covering may pep up the Nifty as tomorrow is the last day of monthly settlement in F&O. 

12.32 pm. Nifty has recouped and is trading in the positive territory at 4864 with Advance/Decline improving to 26/24. The top gainers are BHARTIARTL, TATAMOTORS, M&M, WIPRO & LT, while the top losers are MARUTI, SUZLON, SUNPHARMA, STER & ITC.

11.38 am. Nifty after making a low of 4784 has recovered to 4824 but the market breadth is negative with Advance/Decline at 14/36. If Nifty does not recover and trades in positive region heavy selling pressure may ensue.

10.06 am. Nifty has opened on a negative note and made a low of 4808 and thereafter has started the recovery. Currently Nifty is trading at 4818 with Advance/Decline at 22/28. The top gainers are M&M, CIPLA, HCLTECH, ACC & RPOWER, while thwe top losers are UNITECH, ICICBANK, STER, SUZLON & SBIN.

During the Market:
03.38 pm. From the start of the session negativity dominated and continued to have its toll till the end of the session. Nifty closed at 4846 after touching a low of 4829. The top gainers were WIPRO, TATAMOTORS, SUNPHARMA, CIPLA & HINDUNILVR, while the top losers were HINDLCO, UNITECH, RELCAPITAL, RCOM & BHARTIARTL. 
USD vs INR currently stands at Rs. 46.965, which is good for IT sector and exports. European markets which started in red have managed to come green and Crude oil has started showing minor improvement. These factors may have positive effect on Nifty after the current reaction subsides.

02.58 pm. Nifty has reacted negatively  and has made a low of 4831, this can be taken as an opportunity to take fresh positions. Nifty's long term trend is intact, but buy in phased manner with every major dip. Keep an eye on reality stocks for adding to your portfolio. This reaction is short term so don't sell at all.

12.21 pm. After the announcement of the Credit Policy by RBI, Nifty is witnessing a clear cut negative pressure and has slid to 4882 with Advance/Decline at 12/38. Its knee jerk reaction of the Nifty to the RBI's policy. The top gainers are WIPRO, TATAMOTORS, ONGC, SUNPHARMA & HINDUNILVR, while the top losers are UNITECH, IDFC, DLF, ICICIBANK & HINDALCO.

09.58 am. Nifty opened with weakness in conformity with weak global cues and slipped to 4919 with Advance/Decline at 3/43. The three gainers are WIPRO, TATAMOTORS & BPCL, while the top losers are RCOM, UNITECH, JPASSOCIAT, ABB & IDEA.

03.40 pm. Nifty finally closed at 4970 with a loss of 26 points after a lackluster session. The high point of Nifty was 5033 and the low was 4961. The market breadth remained mostly negative and by the end of the session it dropped to 16/34. The top gainers were CIPLA, RANBAXY, TATASTEEL, TATAMOTORS & ITC, while the top losers were UNITECH, DLF, SUZLON, IDEA & RCOM. Reality sector was worst effected.

02.19 pm. Nifty is turning out to be flattish at 5008 with number of Advances equaling number of Decliners.

01.53 pm. Nifty at 5028 and Advance/Decline at 26/24. The improvement is slow and steady. The top gainers are TATAMOTORS, CIPLA, TATASTEEL, RANBAXY & LT, while the top losers are JPASSOCIAT, IDEA, HINDALCO, UNITECH & CAIRN.

11.16 am. Nifty has formed double bottom as of now and may drift upwards from the current level of 4982. The Advance/Decline has improved to 20/30. The top gainers are RANBAXY, GRASIM, TCS, ITC & ICICIBANK, while the top losers are JPASSOCIAT, JINDALSTEL, CAIRN, UNITECH & HEROHONDA.

10.04 am. Nifty opened on a positive note and touched 5016 but could not sustain and turned negative. It has now dipped to 4973with Advance/Decline at 15/35 denoting a negative market breadth. The top gainers are TATAPOWER, MARUTI, ITC, HDFC & BPCL, while the top losers are JPASSOCIAT, DLF, JINDALSTEL, UNITECH & IDEA.

03.40 pm. Nifty closed at 4997 almost flat.Nifty was unable to carry the early morning gains and by the end of the session it dropped to previous close.The Advance/Decline in the last was at 28/22. The top gainers were ITC, HINDALCO, M&M, IDFG & AXISBANK, while the top losers were GAIL, RELIANCE, GRASIM, TATAMOTORS & RELCAPITAL.

02.31 pm. Nifty has slid to 4990 and Advance/Decline to 30/20. 

01.17 pm. Nifty is oscillating in a range of 30 points 5050-5020, with Advance/Decline at 38/12. The top gainers are ITC, M&M, HINDALCO, AXISBANK & HDFC, while the top losers are GAIL, LT, GRASIM, RELIANCE & BHEL. Selling may dominate the last hour of the session.

10.56 am. Nifty at 5031 and Advance/Decline at 47/3. One hour into the opening and Nifty is maintaining its early gains.

09.59 am. Nifty has made a high of 5054 and Advance/Decline is at 49/1 depicting a very positive opening. The top gainers are JINDALSTEL, STER, RANBAXY, HINDALCO & JPASSOCIAT, while the top loser is GAIL.

02.10 pm. Nifty is trading around 5000 and the scenario is fully negative, as expected there is more downside.

11.48 am. Inflation on the rise, this week figures are at 1.21% as compared to last week's 0.92%. Its a sign of rising economic situation.

11.32 am. Market breadth is now flat with Advance/Decline at 25/25. The top gainers being JINDALSTEL, HCLTECH, CAIRN, ITC & BHARTIARTL, while the top losers are JPASSOCIAT, LT, MARUTI, POWERGRID & TATAMOTORS. There is a steady improvement in market breadth.

10.00 am. Nifty has a weak start it has dipped to 5033 although Advance/Decline is at 22/28. The top gainers are HEROHONDA, TCS, CAIRN, STER & INFOSYSTCH, while the top losers are JPASSOCIAT, LT, TATAMOTORS, ICICIBANK & RELIANCE.

03.40 pm. Nifty meekly closed at 5063 with a loss of 50 points over previous close.The market breadth turned totally negative towards the end of session and Advance/Decline dropped to 13/37. All throughout the day Nifty could not traverse in the positive zone decisively, Nifty made a low of 5051. The top gainers were HCLTECH, JINDALSTEL, TCS, INFOSYSTCH & BHARTIARTL, while the top losers were TATAMOTORS, TATASTEEL, SBIN, HDFC & CAIRN.

03.19 pm. These are the times when there is all round selling its an opportunity to do cherry picking. Nifty at 5055.

02.05 am. Nifty has broken down the range and has reached 5086 with Advance/Decline following the suite at 19/31. This type of day is best avoided for trading.

01.08 am. After making a low of 51005 Nifty is at 5111 and Advance/Decline at 28/22. The sideways movement may dominate the session as expected. SUZLON, JINDALSTEL, SAIL, SIEMENS & NTPC are the top gainers, while the top losers are INFOSYSTCH, SUNPHARMA, WIPRO, TCS & ITC.

During the Market:
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain closed  tomorrow i.e. Tuesday, October 13,2009, on account of Assembly Elections in Maharashtra.

03.35 pm. Nifty rallied to close at 5054 a gain of 109 points over previous close. It was a very good day for the Indian markets. The top gainers for the day were SBIN, RELINFRA, RELCAOITAL, WIPRO & PNB, while the top losers were ABMUJACEM, GAIL, HEROHONDA, BHEL & RCOM. The market breadth was broad with 44 stocks advancing and 6 declining. The confidence reposed in Indian markets by the spurt in Index of Industrial Production (IIP) numbers and the analysts was clearly visible.

02.51 pm. Nifty at 5045 a full 100 point gain and supported with broad market breadth.  The RELIANCE group is leading from front. RELINFRA, SBIN, RELCAPITAL, RELIANCE & WIPRO are the top gainers, while HEROHONDA, GAIL, BHEL, AMBUJACEM & RCOM are the top losers.

02.15 pm. Nifty has spurted to touch a high of 5054 and currently is trading at 5048, the Advance/Decline is at 44/6. The top gainers are SBIN, TCS, RELIANCE, ITC & WIPRO, while the top declining are RCOM, HEROHONDA, GAIL, BHEL & ACC.

01.30 pm. Nifty after dipping to 4965 levels is recovering at 4977 with Advance/Decline at 33/17.

12.55 pm. Nifty is still in a range, at 4984 with Advance/Decline at 39/11. The August Index of Industrial Production (IIP) has recorded a handsome gain of 10.4% as against 1.7% on year to year basis.

11.55 am. Nifty continues to move in a tight range, with a positive market breadth. The top gainers are RELINFRA, BHARTIARTL, TCS, CIPLA & SBIN, while the top losers are HEROHONDA, GAIL, BHEL, BPCL & ICICIBANK.

10.55 am. Nifty is forming a channel in the range of 4990-4975, its likely to move up from here very soon.

10.10 am. Nifty has risen to 4982 and the Advance/Decline is at 39/11. The top gainers are RCOM, BHARTIARTL, INFOSYSTCH, TATAMOTORS & ONGC, while the top losers are HEROHONDA, NATIONALUM, BPCL, ITC & SIEMENS. Nifty may cross 5000 mark and may stall near 5006.

03.35 pm. Nifty closed at 4945 with a loss of 57 points. The top gainers for the day were BHARTIARTL, RCOM, ONGC, AMBUJACEM & GAIL, while the day's top losers were TATAMOTORS, RANBAXY, SIEMENS, STER & PNB. Market breadth was negative with just 9 stocks advancing and 41 stocks declining.

03.00 pm. Nifty at 4951 after dipping to 4934.The Advance/Decline is at 9/41 depicting the negative market breadth. The top gainers are BHARTIARTL, GAIL, ONGC,  JINDALSTEL & RCOM, while the top losers are TATAMOTORS, RANBAXY, PNB, GRASIM & WIPRO.

01.00 pm. Nifty is showing continued weakness at 4973 after making a low of 4965. Best would be wait and watch, let Nifty take its course. AT levels below 4960 there will be an opportunity to accumulate.

During the Market:
03.35 pm.  The Nifty closed at 5002 with a gain of 16 points over previous close, which is almost a flat close. The top gainers for the session were CIPLA, SIEMENS, TATAMOTORS, RELINFRA & GAIL, while the top losers were BHARTIARTL, RCOM, SUNPHARMA, HCLTECH & TCS. The last hour of the session saw profit booking.

02.39 pm. Nifty has made a high of 5043 and currently felt a bout of profiteering but again has recouped back to 5018, with Advance/Decline at 40/10. The top gainers are TATAMOTORS, SIEMENS, CIPLA, GAIL & RELINFRA, while the top losers are BHARTIARTL, RCOM, TCS, SUNPHARMA & HCLTECH.

12.30 pm. Nifty at 5028 and Advance/Decline constant at 40/10. The top gainers are TATAMOTORS, SIEMENS, HINDUNILVR, RELINFRA & CIPLA, while the top losers are BHARTIARTL, RCOM, TCS, LT & INFOSYSTCH.

11.57 am. Inflation data is out its 0.70% as compared to 0.83% last week.

11.44 am. Nifty at 5023 and Advance/Decline at 40/10. The market breadth is very positive and wide. The top gainers are TATASTEEL, HINDALCO, HINDUNILVR, TATAMOTORS & ITC, while the top losers are BHARTIARTL, RCOM, TCS, LT & INFOSYSTCH. As expected TATASTEEL and GAIL have met the objective and TATACOMM has started looking up after an initial dip to 465.50.

10.04 am. Nifty opened with a positive gap at 5011 and made a high of 5035 then retraced back to 5000. Now its trading at 5004 with Advance/Decline at 38/12. The top gainers are HINDALCO, RELIANCE, NATIONALUM, ONGC & TATASTEEL, while the top losers are RCOM, BHARTIARTL, IDEA, LT & RANBAXY.

Pre Market Analysis 09.00 am.
  • Global cues are positive except for European markets.
  • Crude oil is at 69.83.
  • USD vs INR has strengthened to Rs.46.82 giving jitters to IT and Exports.
  • Global cues are expected to dominate today's session. Marked volatility and choppiness is expected. Amidst all hue and cry Nifty may yet consolidate its position if it can sustain above 4960.
  • Expected High/Low 5040,5085/4960,4905,4885.
  • Accumulation advised at levels below 4960.
  • GAIL is expected to try once again 375+ levels.

03.35 pm. Nifty closed at 4985 with a loss of 41 points. Nifty, since noon, has turned weak  and could not recuperate. The market breadth remained overall negative in the post noon session. At close the Advance/Decline was at 19/31. The top gainers were STER, SAIL, PNB, CIPLA & TATASTEEL, while the top losers were WIPRO, MARUTI, TCS, RCOM & HCLTECH.

03.00 pm. Nifty at 5002 and is slipping after briefly touching 5040+, the Advance/Decline has slipped to 20/30.

02.24 pm. At 5015 Nifty is hovering around previous close with Advance/Decline at 23/27. The top gainers are STER, SAIL, HINDALCO, PNB & BHEL, while the top losers are WIPRO, TCS, MARUTI, INFOSYSTCH & GRASIM.

12.39 pm. Nifty went down to 4997 then is recovering at 5012.

12.30 pm. After loosing all the morning gains Nifty has gone down below the previous close at 5024. The Advance/Decline has also plundered to 23/27. There is sudden change from positive to negative market breadth.

11.20 am. Nifty at 5061 and moving sideways in a range of 5070-5055, with Advance/Decline at 40/10.

10.04 am. Nifty has opened on the positive note in synchronization to the global cues and straightway touched a high of 5077 . Its currently trading at 5060 with an Advance/Decline of 44/6. The top gainers are STER, HINDALCO, UNITECH, IDEA & TATASTEEL, while the top losers are TCS, INFOSYSTCH, HINDUNILVR, WIPRO & POWERGRID.

  • Crude oil has recouped to $ 71.42 per barrel.

03.35 pm. Nifty closed at 5027 with a gain of 24 points over previous close. This was  a day of consolidation after a straight fall of previous day. The top gainers were HINDALCO, RELINFRA, HINDUNILVR, ITC & BHEL, while the top losers were RCOM, BHARTIARTL, IDEA, HCLTECH & AMBUJACEM.

03.11 pm. Nifty is moving in tandem with the global cues which have turned mildly positive. Nifty has made a day's high of 5034 and is trading at 5025. The Advance/Decline has been hovering around 30/20.

02.48 pm. Nifty at 5018 and Advance/Decline at 30/20. The top gainers are HINDALCO, HINDUNILVR, ITC, STER & AXISBANK, while the top losers are BHARTIARTL, RCOM, IDEA, HCLTECH & AMBUJACEM.
Due to technical snag updating was not possible earlier, inconvenience is highly regretted.

During the Market:
03.35 pm. Nifty closed at 5003 a full 80 point correction. The market breadth was negative with 11 Advancing and 39 Declining stocks. This minor correction will provide strength to the Nifty, but the crucial support is at 4985. The top gainers were ITC, SUNPHARMA, BPCL, RELINFRA & M&M, while the top losers were BHARTIARTL, GRASIM, RCOM, HINDALCO & UNITECH.

03.06 pm. After making a low of 4991 Nifty is trying to recover some of the lost ground at 5008.

02.33 pm. Nifty has dropped to 5015 and Advance/Decline is at 14/36. The low of 5008 is made. The European and Hang Seng are trading positive.

01.48 pm. Nifty at 5029 and Advance/Decline at 17/33. The top gainers are M&M, RELINFRA, ITC, CIPLA & JINDALSTEL, while the top losers are BHARTIARTL, GRASIM, RCOM, SUZLON & AXISBANK.

12.15 pm. Nifty is trading sideways at 5042 and Advance/Decline is at 17/33.

10.15 am. Nifty opened weak and instantly dipped to 5011 and thereafter is trading around 5030-5040 with Advance/Decline at 11/39. The top gainers are AMBUJACEM, ITC, RANBAXY, HEROHONDA & RELINFRA, while the top losers are GRASIM, DLF, IDEA, HINDALCO & SBIN.

During the Market:
03.35 pm. Nifty ended absolutely flat at 5083. The session was marked by range bound movement with choppiness. Market breadth turned negative towards the end of the session with Advance/Decline dipping to 22/28. The top gainers were BHARTIARTL, AMBUJACEM, RCOM, AXISBANK & ICICIBANK, while the top losers were GRASIM, HDFC, CIPLA, MARUTI & BPCL.

02.40 pm. Nifty at 5084 after diving to near day's lows but recouping quickly to be flat, with Advance/Decline at 25/25.

01.53 pm. A flat session with range bound movement, it is expected that some action may be witnessed in post 02:30 pm.

01.06 pm. Nifty at 5095 and Advance/Decline improving to 29/21 inducing some promise in otherwise dull session. BHARTIARTL, TCS, AXISBANK, JINDALSTEL & ICICIBANK are the top gainers and BPCL, HDFC, MARUTI, CIPLA & NTPC are the top losers.

12.16 pm. Nifty at 5078 and Advance/Decline at 22/28, the situation is nearly standstill without any fanfare.

11.29 am. Nifty hovering around previous close with Advance/Decline 21/29 with flattish outlook. May be the traders are wary of altering their positions as the market shall remain closed for three consecutive days. BHARTIARTL, TCS, AXISBANK, ACC & PNB are the top gainers, while, the top losers are MARUTI, HDFC, BPCL, HINDALCO & NTPC.

10.28 am. After making an initial high of 5110 Nifty lost strength and is trying to find a bottom. Trading currently at 5074 with Advance/Decline at 14/36. The top gainers are BHARTIARTL, AXISBANK, SIEMENS, ACC & AMBUJACEM, while the top losers are MARUTI, HDFC, BPCL, TATAPOWER & CIPLA.
