During the Market:

03.40 pm. Nifty closed almost flat at 5250 losing 11 points over previous close. The Advance/Decline ratio remained nearly flat, only stock specific action was seen. IT sector enlarged its losses on account of weak Dollar. The top gainers were SAIL, RCOM, HDFC, SUNPHARMA & GAIL, while the top losers were TCS, ITC, HINDUNILVR, HINDALCO & IDEA..

02.58 pm. Nifty moving in a tight range of 30-40 points +/- previous close. The Advance/Decline is at 24/26. The top gainers are HDFC, SAIl, CAIRN, GAIL & SUNPHARMA, while the top losers are ITC, M&M, TCS, IDEA & HCLTECH. Nifty is heading towards a near flat close.

11.42 am. Nifty has dropped down in the negative arena and is trading at 5244. The Advance/Decline has dropped to 22/28. The top gainers are SUNPHARMA, DLF, NTPC, BHARTIARTL & RELINFRA, while the top losers are HINDALCO, IDEA, BPCL, JINDALSTEL & ITC.

10.25 am. Nifty opened  lukewarm and tried to retain the early gains and touched 5293, but thereafter slowly yet constantly is getting weaker. The Advance/Decline is now at 30/20. The top gainers are BHARTIARTL, NTPC, SUNPHARMA, GAIL & HEROHONDA, while the top losers are HINDALCO, JINDALSTEL, BPCL, RELIANCE & IDFC. Nifty has come down close to previous close.

During the Market:
03.40 pm. Nifty corrected by 40 points and closed weak at 5262, it made a high of 5325 and a low of 5251. The main selling pressure was felt in the afternoon session and continued till the end. The market breadth also reversed from the morning figures to 15 Advances and 35 Declines. The top gainers were DLF, TATAMOTORS, CAIRN, HINDUNILVR & STER, while the top losers were HCLTECH, HDFCBANK, AMBUJACEM, SUNPHARMA & INFOSYSTCH. The IT sector has suffered the most because of weakening of Dollar. Anyway these small corrections are good for the Nifty's health. 

01.36 pm. A listless and dull trading is making the day very dreary. Nifty is keeping a low profile and traversing the previous close up and down. The Advance/Decline has come to 28/22. The top gainers are DLF, CAIRN, STER, TATAMOTORS & M&M, while the top losers are HDFCBANK, INFOSYSTCH, AMBUJACEM, SUNPHARMA & TCS.                 

11.26 am. Nifty moving near the previous close, trying keep afloat above 5300. The Advance/Decline is trying to hold at 30/20. The top gainers are DLF, M&M, STER, ACC & CAIRN, while the top losers are INFOSYSTCH, TCS, HDFCBANK, SUNPHARMA & HCLTECH. A mild bout of profit-taking has taken place but Nifty is still strong.

10.16 am. Nifty has opened lukewarm and is trading sideways at 4316. Nifty has made a high of 5325 and Advance/Decline is at 35/15. The top gainers are DLF, M&M, STER, UNITECH & ACC, while the top losers are INFOSYSTCH, TCS, HCLTECH, HDFCBANK & SUNPHARMA.

  • Global cues are positive but lukewarm.
  • Crude Oil has improved to $ 82.17 per barrel.
  • USD vs INR has gone further weak at Rs.44.925, bad for Indian exports.
  • Nifty although in the overbought zone still upside evident and venturing above 5350 not ruled out. At the same time movements may be dominantly sideways and closing can be on the lower side.

During the Market:

03.40 pm. Nifty finally closed at 5302 with a gain of 20 points. During the session Nifty touched a high of 5329. The market breadth remained positive throughout the session. The top gainers were BPCL, HINDALCO, MARUTI, RPOWER & AMBUJACEM, while the top losers were INFOSYSTCH, TCS, TATAMOTORS, RELCAPITAL & RELIANCE.

01.08 pm. Nifty has made a high of 5315 and is trading confidently. The Advance/Decline is maintained at a favorable level of 38/12. The top gainers are AMBUJACEM, HINDALCO, M&M, HDFC & STER, while the top losers are INFOSYSTCH, TCS, CIPLA, HCLTECH & TATAMOTORS. The weakness of USD is adversely effecting the export oriented companies and sectors.

09.28 am. Nifty opened to dip to 5242 but recovered equally fast and crossed much awaited 5300 level by touching 5305. The Advance/Decline is favorably inclined at 36/14. The top gainers are HINDALCO, AMBUJACEM, HDFC, STER & AXISBANK, while the top losers are INFOSYSTCH, ABB, JPASSOCIAT, ICICIBANK & CIPLA.. Nifty may pave way for higher goal if it closes above 5320-5230.

During the Market:

03.40 pm. Nifty took another baby-step towards the goal and closed at 5282, gaining 21 points over previous close. Nifty took the early lead and then kept on moving in a range accompanied with choppiness. The market breadth was positively inclined throughout the session. The top gainers were TATAMOTORS, HINDUNILVR, AXISBANK, M&M & IDFC, while the top losers were SIEMENS, RELINFRA, INFOSYSTCH, BHARTIARTL & CAIRN. Today the Nifty made an unsuccessful attempt to touch 5300 but could reach to 5293.        .                 

01.45 pm. Nifty trading firm at 5283, the high point touched is 5293. The Advance/Decline is favorably perked at 31/19. The top gainers are HINDUNILVR, ONGC, MARUTI, M&M & AXISBANK, while the top losers are DLF, INFOSYSTCH, UNITECH, SIEMENS & RELINFRA.. It is expected that Nifty may make an attempt to crossover 5300 mark by 02.30 PM. and if it closes above 5320 it may move ahead in the next band in the coming sessions.  

09.19 am. Nifty opened resilient and rose further to make a high of 5286. The Advance/Decline is favorably placed at 44/6. The top gainers are TATAMOTORS, IDFC, ABB, M&M & MARUTI, while the top losers are BHARTIARTL, INFOSYSTCH, HDFCBANK, ITC & HINDALCO.

During the Market:

03.40 pm. Another day of consolidation marked by dull and tepid trading. In the last leg of the session some action was seen which pulled the Nifty to 5267. Nifty finally closed at 5260 with Banks preforming better than other sectors. Advance/Decline which remained in the negative the entire day turned positive towards the close to 34/16. The top gainers were HEROHONDA, HINDALCO, RPOWER, SUNPHARMA & SIEMENS, while the top losers were ACC, TATAMOTORS, NTPC, ONGC & GAIL.

11.29 am. Nifty opened tepid and is trading in the negative zone but close to yesterday's close. The high made till now is 5229 and a low of 5202. Advance/Decline is trailing at 19/31. The top gainers are RPOWER, IDEA, HINDUNILVR, CAIRN & IDFC, while the top losers are TATAMOTORS, ACC, MARUTI, HDFC & GAIL. The Nifty is trading nearly flat and range bound, this behavior may continue till the consolidation process is complete. The  best would be to wait for the Nifty to break-out above 5300 or below 5100.

During the Market:

03.41 pm. During consolidation phase there is lot of boring and dull period. The Nifty closed for the day at 5225 gaining 20 points over previous close. The top gainers were CAIRN, HDFCBANK, JINDALSTEL, RANBAXY & CIPLA, whule the top losers were IDEA, BHARTIARTL, TATAMOTORS, IDFC & DLF.                    

10.21 am. Nifty opened with positivity to touch 5243, but came off and is currently trading at 5220. The Advance/Decline is at 32/18. The top gainers are CIPLA, JINDALSTEL, HDFCBANK, RANBAXY & TATASTEEL, while the top losers are BHARTIARTL, DLF, ACC, IDEA & TATAMOTORS.

During the Market:

03.40 pm. Nifty closed near the low at 5205 losing 57 points over previous close. The top gainers were HDFC,  RCOM, BHARTIARTL, SUNPHARMA & TCS, while the top losers were JPASSOCIAT, HINDALCO, DLF, SUZLON & SAIL. Today's action may be viewed as a small correction which is healthy for the market.          

01.23 pm. Nifty is in consolidation mode, which is very boring and lackluster, further, this type of session can be ignored.

09.40 am. Nifty opened weak dipping to 5187 and then started a weary recovery. Its trading at 5226 with Advance/Decline at 12.38. The top gainers are AMBUJACEM, BHARTIARTL, BPCL, GAIL & CIPLA, while the top losers are JPASSOCIAT, M&M, ICICIBANK, SUZLON & HDFC.

03.40 pm. Nifty exhibited a dull, flat and choppy behavior as expected and closed at 5262, thus, gaining a meager 16 points over previous close. The market breadth remained flat for most part of the session. Nifty is taking baby-steps and consolidating at the same time. The top gainers were BHARTIARTL, PNB, IDEA, POWERGRID & RCOM, while the losers were HDFC, DLF, M&M, GAIL & JINDALSTEL.

02.44 pm. It has been dull and a very narrow range-bound trading till now. The market breadth has also remained neutral. The Advance/Decline is maintaining  a lukewarm stance at 28/22. The top gainers are BHARTIARTL, POWERGRID, RCOM, TATAPOWER & IDEA, while the top losers are HDFC, DLF, ICICIBANK, M&M & AXISBANK. The session up-till now has been lackluster and flat.   

11.41 am. Nifty at 5248 and moving in a positive range with choppiness. The Advance/Decline is at 31/19. The top gainers are BHARTIARTL, TATAPOWER. IDEA, SAIL & HEROHONDA, while the top losers are HDFC, ICICIBANK, M&M, SUNPHARMA & INFOSYSTCH. Nifty may continue to consolidate and there may be some action in the afternoon session.  

09.30 am. Nifty has opened lukewarm and has made a high of 5261 and a low of 5246. It is expected to move in a range of 20-30 points +/-. The Advance/Decline is positively inclined at 36/14 inducing some positive hope. The top gainers are BHARTIARTL, HEROHONDA, SUZLON, TATAPOWER & STER, while the top losers are HDFC, ICICIBANK, ITC, AXISBANK & M&M.

During the Market:

03.37 pm. Nifty closed positive near the days high at 5245 recording a gain of a meager 15 points, but as expected the action was seen in the last leg of the session. The high point touched by Nifty was 5255. The market breadth changed to positive in the end. The top gainers are IDEA, JPASSOCIAT, SAIL, HINDALCO & RCOM, while the top losers were M&M, BPCL, TCS, HCLTECH & ONGC.                                    h    

02.28 pm. Nifty hovering around the previous close making a lackluster trading. The Advance/Decline is also neutrally inclined at 24/26. The Nifty is at present consolidating. The top gainers are IDEA, JPASSOCIAT, CAIRN, SAIL & RCOM, while the top losers are M&M, TCS, BPCL, ONGC & WIPRO. There is practically no change in situation since opening. 

12.23 pm. Nifty moving near the previous close and finding support around 5224 levels on the down side. The Advance/Decline however remains negatively inclined at 23/27. The top gainers are IDEA, JPASSOCIAT, SAIL, AXISBANK & DLF, while the top losers are M&M, BPCL, ONGC, LT & MARUTI. There may be some action towards the last leg of the session.   

11.33 am. Nifty trading at 5228, nearly flat, with Advance/Decline becoming negatively inclined at 22/28. The top gainers are IDEA, JPASSOCIAT, AXISBANK, SAIL & INFOSYSTCH, while the top losers are M&M, BPCL, ONGC, STER & LT.

09.16 am. Nifty under pressure has sunk below the previous close. The Advance/Decline has dipped to 25/25. The top losers are WIPRO, NTPC, DLF, HCLTECH & TCS.

09.04 am. Nifty has opened lukewarm and has made a high of 5248 and is trading at 5245. The Advance/Decline is at 34/16.

03.45 pm. Nifty closed at 5231 gaining a meager 33 points lead over previous close. The high point of the was 5260. The market breadth remained positive. The top gainers were CIPLA, IDEA, HINDALCO, HCLTECH & LT, while the top losers were UNITECH, MARUTI, TATAPOWER, BPCL & HINDUNILVR.          

02.43 pm. Nifty is trading around 5222 under pressure of profit taking. The Advance/Decline has slipped to 32/18. The top gainers are CIPLA, HINDALCO, IDEA, HCLTECH & ABB, while the top losers are UNITECH, MARUTI, TATAPOWER, BPCL & HINDUNILVR.

01.46 pm. Nifty is coming off the highs and has slipped to 5237. The Advance/Decline is now at 35/15. The top gainers are CIPLA, IDEA, HINDALCO, SAIL & ICICIBANK, while the top losers are HINDUNILVR, MARUTI, BPCL, UNITECH & TATAPOWER.

12.04 pm. Nifty has made a high of 5260 and is trading at 5245. The Advance/Decline is at 45/5. The top gainers are IDEA, CIPLA, HCLTECH, RELINFRA & HINDALCO, while the top losers are HINDUNILVR, CAIRN, TATAPOWER, BPCL & M&M. The way Nifty is moving the next expected high of 5320 appears scalable.     

09.33 am. Nifty has opened in congruence to the global cues and has immediately climbed to the high of 5237 and is trying to hold the gains at 5233. The Advance/Decline is at 47/3. The top gainers are IDEA, ABB, JPASSOCIAT, DLF & TATASTEEL, while the top losers are HINDUNILVR, BPCL & INFOSYSTCH. Cautious trading at levels of 5350 is advised as profit booking may take place around that level.

The Nifty could break up above 5190 and closed at 5198 after touching a high of 5209. Now it may consolidate around 5220 for sometime to gain strength to move above 5220 mark. The Nifty had been consolidating for quite sometime in the range of 4990-5150. Nifty's movement today is attributed mainly to RELIANCE which moved it as it has largest weightage. The net gain was of 70 points over previous close, now a slightest buying can pull the Nifty up above 5220. Today, the top gainers were IDEA, RELIANCE, SUNPHARMA, LT & BPCL, while the top losers were BHARTIARTL, ACC, HDFCBANK, JPASSOCIAT & WIPRO. Till afternoon the market was flat then in the post-afternoon session Nifty took-off.

From the present rise to scale another milestone of 5220 and above Nifty requires some solid financial trigger which at present is not in view, so the chances are there would be consolidation.

11.10 pm. Nifty is at 5121 and has made a high of 5124, the Advance/Decline is at 26/24. The top gainers are ABB, BHARTIARTL, GAIL, STER & SUZLON, while the top losers are HINDUNILVR, HEROHONDA, BPCL, POWERGRID & HINDALCO. FII net buy is 364 crores at this time.     

09.15 am. Nifty since opening is lukewarm, it has made a high of 5121 and a low of 5104. Its showing volatility and choppiness. The Advance/Decline is at 21/29 with slight negativity. The top gainers are WIPRO, RANBAXY, SUZLON, TCS & AXISBANK, while the top losers are HINDUNILVR, TATASTEEL, HEROHONDA, HINDALCO & STER. Before breaking out of the range Nifty may try to shake off scrips from weak hands.

Post Market Review:

Today Nifty opened lukewarm and scaled a high of 5137 and made a low of 5092. Daylong it traded in a narrow range consolidating throughout. Market breadth was also neutrally inclined. Global cues were also mixed so not of much help. Nifty closed almost flat at 5116 gaining just 14 points over previous close, loosing most of the intraday gains . The top gainers were HEROHONDA, IDFC, ACC, AMBUJACEM & RELIANCE, while the top losers were MARUTI, HCLTECH, NTPC, CAIRN & ICICIBANK. Its encouraging that FIIs inflows continue promising a betterment.
Nifty may continue to consolidate and move in a narrow range (5050-5190), till it moves above 5230.

03.45 pm. Nifty closed at 5124 with a gain of 35 points. INFOSYSTCH, ICICIBANK, LT, HDFC & WIPRO were the top gainers, while the top losers were RELIANCE, HDFCBANK, TCS, BHARTIARTL & BHEL. FIIs flows have increased and growth is seen nearly in all sectors. It is expected that in next few sessions Nifty will breach the psychological level of 5200.

02.00 pm. Nifty trading in a range since morning. The top gainers are M&M, AMBUJACEM, ICICIBANK, HEROHONDA & ITC, while the top losers are RELINFRA, RANBAXY, BHARTIARTL, HINDALCO & HINDUNILVR. Trading is dull and lackluster.

09.30 am. Nifty has opened positive and made a high of 5147, its now trying to retain the early gains.

During the Market:

03.40 pm. Nifty closed almost flat at 5088, recording marginal difference over previous close of 8+ points. Market breadth was positive in early part of the session but later was near neutral. The trading was dull and not much movement was seen except few selected counters. The top gainers were  DLF, HEROHONDA, SUZLON, AMBUJACEM & ABB, while the top losers were TATAMOTORS, AXISBANK, WIPRO, UNITECH & SAIL.

02.11 pm. Short covering is taking place and Nifty has recouped to 5095. The Advance/Decline has improved to 30/20, raising hopes for a pull back. The top gainers are DLF, SUZLON, AMBUJACEM, HEROHONDA & JINDALSTEL, while the top losers are TATAMOTORS, AXISBANK, SAIL, WIPRO & HCLTECH.

01.26 pm. Nifty at 5072 after touching a low of 5068. Advance/Decline is slightly negative at 23/27. The top gainers are SUZLON, DLF, AMBUJACEM, JINDALSTEL & ABB, while the top losers are TATAMOTORS, SAIL, AXISBANK, UNITECH & ITC.

12.27 pm. Nifty could not hold as expected, and went down to 5073. There is a support around 5050, wait and watch. The Advance/Decline has gone down to 25/25. The top gainers are SUZLON, BHARTIARTL, DLF, JINDALSTEL & AMBUJACEM, while the top losers are TATAMOTORS, UNITECH, AXISBANK, SAIL & BHEL. This presents an opportunity for accumulating.

11.54 am. Nifty still holding on its early morning gains at 5110. Its too long Nifty could not break up, the longer it takes weaker it becomes. The Advance/Decline is maintained at 42/8, which gives some consolation and hope. The top gainers are SUZLON, BHARTIARTL, JINDALSTEL, AMBUJACEM & DLF, while the top losers are TATAMOTORS, ITC, AXISBANK, TATAPOWER & NTPC.

09.53 am. Nifty is trading around 5110 and trying to hold on to its early gains. The Advance/Decline is at 45/5. The top gainers are DLF, SIEMENS, CIPLA, BHARTIARTL & JINDALSTEEL, while the top losers are SUNPHARMA, ITC, TATAMOTORS, TATAPOWER & HINDUNILVR.

During the Market:

03.45 pm. Nifty closed almost flat as expected at 5080 just 8 points short of previous close. The market breadth became positive in the last hour of the session, Advance/Decline at 27/23. The top gainers of the day were SAIL, SUZLON, UNITECH, RCOM & DLF, while the top losers were AXISBANK, HINDALCO, MARUTI, INFOSYSTCH & CAIRN. It was a breather for Nifty which rose consecutively for the last three sessions. It was a typical consolidation process.

02.32 pm. Nifty at 5072 coming closer to previous close. The Advance/Decline has turned positive at 26/24. The top gainers are SUZLON, SAIL, RCOM, RELINFRA & DLF, while the top losers are AXISBANK, INFOSYSTCH, CAIRN, HINDALCO & ICICIBANK.

01.46 pm. Nifty still trading in a range 5055-5070, with Advance/Decline at 23/27. The dull and lackluster trading is very dreary. The top gainers are TATAMOTORS, RCOM, SAIL, DLF & HINDUNILVR, while the top losers are AXISBANK, HINDALCO, INFOSYSTCH, JPASSOCIAT & ICICIBANK. Last minute pull back is expected.

11.38 am. Nifty is trading in the negative territory and listlessly at 5062. The Advance/Decline has improved however to 22/28. The top gainers are DLF, RCOM, UNITECH, RELINFRA & SIEMENS, while the top losers are INFOSYSTCH, AXISBANK, HEROHONDA, MARUTI & HINDALCO. Nifty is quiet after three days consecutive rise. The movement may continue sideways movement with a probability of a flat closing.

10.34 am. Nifty found support at 5055 and has recouped to 5067. The Advance/Decline is at 16/34 still negatively inclined. The top gainers are DLF, UNITECH, RCOM, GRASIM & SIEMENS, while the top losers are INFOSYSTCH, HEROHONDA, HINDALCO, RANBAXY & CIPLA.

09.30 am. Nifty at 5074 after making a low of 5071 and Advance/Decline at 18/32. The negativity of Nifty continues for the time being as Nifty takes a breather. The top gainers are DLF, SIEMENS, STER, UNITECH & ITC, while the top losers are CIPLA, INFOSYSTCH, HEROHONDA, AMBUJACEM & IDEA. The weakness of Dollar is evident from the performance of IT sector. 

09.05 am. Nifty opened lukewarm to make a high of 5096 and immediately fell to 5074. Now it is trading at 5082. The Advance/Decline is negatively at  17/33. The top gainers are DLF, SIEMENS, ITC, RELIANCE & RELINFRA, while the top losers are M&M, HDFCBANK, HEROHONDA, INFOSYSTCH & TATAMOTORS. Nifty may become resilient may come in positive zone.

  • Nifty is close to breakout above 5200, if not, flat closing may take place.

During the Market:

03.40 pm. Today was consecutively third good day for Nifty, there was no looking back and Nifty continued its climb. Nifty closed at 5088 with a handsome gain of 71 points. All the sectors participated well. The top gainers were JPASSOCIAT, TATAPOWER, RELIANCE, JINDALSTE & SIEMENS, while the top losers were RANBAXY, AMBUJACEM, MARUTI, ONGC & LT. Today the Nifty has paved way for next objective of 5200+ level. 

03.09 pm. Nifty has touched 5087 and the Advance/Decline  is maintained at 38/12. The next benchmark of 5090 is very close by. If Nifty closes above 5080 it would spell further strength.

02.30 pm. Nifty is trading at around 5075 with Advance/Decline at 38/12. Metals, Auto, Banks and Reality are performing well in the post budget scenario. The market has consecutively has been rising since budget. The top gainers are TATAPOWER, JPASSOCIAT, JINDALSTEL, RELIANCE & DLF, while the top losers are RANBAXY, MARUTI, ONGC, WIPRO & IDEA. 

01.11 pm. Nifty is trying to breakout of the range and has made a high of 5070. The Advance/Decline is poised at 40/10. Except IT all the sectors are participating equally. The top gainers are TATAPOWER, JPASSOCIAT, JINDALSTEL, RELIANCE & RELCAPITAL, while the top losers are MARUTI, ONGC, RANBAXY, LT & WIPRO.

10.56 am. Nifty is trading range bound between 5060 and 5050 with Advance/Decline improving to 39/11. The top gainers are INDALSTEL, RELIANCE, JPASSOCIAT, TATAPOWER & HINDUNILVR, while the top losers are RANBAXY, MARUTI, ONGC, LT & IDEA.

09.23 am. Nifty has opened with strength and has made a high of 5054 and is trading comfortably at 5048 with Advance/Decline at 37/13. The top gainers are JINDALSTEL, RELIANCE, JPASSOCIAT, SAIL & DLF, while the top losers are RANBAXY, MARUTI, ITC, IDEA & ACC.

  • Crude Oil has improved to $ 79.66 per barrel.
  • USD vs INR has weakened further to Rs.45.82
  • Nifty is in uptrend and may continue to rise to 5250+ levels, but before that it may consolidate.

  • Buy on dips and book part profits at levels above 5100+.

During the Market:

03.45 pm. Nifty closed at the high point of the day at 5017, moving confidently up the incline to make a high of 5029. The market breadth was wide and positive and the auto sector boomed with excellent Feb'10 figures. The top gainers were TATAMOTORS, TATASTEEL, M&M, TATAPOWER & HINDALCO, while the top losers were BPCL, DLF, GAIL, ABB & ONGC.

09.55 am. Nifty has opened with a positive gap hence, caution to be exercised, best would be to wait and watch. It is quite possible that, bears may overtake the control towards the end. Nifty opened at 4935 with gap up of 13 points and is trying hard at 4974 to retain the lead. The Advance/Decline is at 35/15. The top gainers are TATAMOTORS, M&M, TATASTEEL, AXISBANK & STER, while the top losers are DLF, BPCL, ABB, HINDUNILVR & UNITECH.
