During the Market:


03.40 pm. Nifty has closed at 5333 with a meager gain of 29 points. The Advance/Decline ratio closed at 27/22 while KOTAKBANK remained flat. The Budget was unable to enthuse the Nifty as tried by the Finance Minister. The major gainers today were ITC, SBIN, ONGC, M&M & IDFC, while the major losers were ICICIBANK, TATAMOTORS, SESAGOA, AMBUJACEM & INFOSYSTCH.            

03.12 pm.
Nifty at 5331 and Advance/Decline at 26/23 with TCS being flat. The major gainers are ITC, SBIN, ONGC, HDFC & M&M, while the major losers are ICICIBANK, TATAMOTORS, SEASAGOA, AMBUJACEM & GAIL.       

02.30 pm.
Nifty after making a high of 5477 has come down to 5372, the Advance/Decline ratio has slumped to become flat level at 26/24. The major gainers are ITC, SBIN, M&M, LT & ONGC, while the major losers are ICICIBANK, INFOSYSTCH, TATAMOTORS, SESAGOA & AMBUJACEM.

01.31 pm.
Nifty has crossed over 5400 mark and is gathering steam at 5420+ levels and may touch 5500 level. The budget euphoria is at its peak, its to be seen wether Nifty can sustain and rise further or becomes weak by the end of the day.
              
12.15 pm.

  • 40 lakh SC/ST students to benefit from new scholarships,
  • To treat capital investment in fertilizer sector as Infra
  • Allocated Rs 58,000 crores for social schemes ( Bharat Nirman Yojna)

  • Allocation for farm development hiked to Rs 7860 crores
  • Rural infrastructure development fund raised to Rs 180 billion in 2011-12

11.25 am. Nifty has spiked as the Budget speech is being delivered by Mr. Pranabh Mukerji, Finance Minister. Nifty has touched 5391. The Advance/Decline ratio has climbed to 40/10, the major gainers are RELIANCE, HDFC, LT, ITC & ONGC, while the losers are TATAMOTORS, HEROHONDA, HINDALCO, ACC & HCLECH.             

10.28 am.
Nifty is making a expectant wait just before the BUDGET and is trading positive but range-bound. The Advance/Decline ratio is pecked at 34/16. The major positive expectants are RELIANCE, HDFC, LT, INFOSYSTCH & IDFC, while the major apprehensive are TATAMOTORS, HEROHONDA, HINDALCO, BAJAJAUTO & M&M. It appears that steel sector and related auto sectors are having negative expectations from the budget. Nifty is trading in a range of 5330-5350.                                

09.30 am.
Nifty has opened resilient with positive gap at 5330 and appears very positive. The Advance/Decline ratio is also very optimistic at 36/14, the major gainers are INFOSYSTCH, RELIANCE, HDFC, LT & IDFC, while the major losers are TATAMOTORS, ITC, HEROHONDA, HINDALCO & BAJAJAUTO. Railway Budget has not hiked passenger fares and stressed on better utilization of resources. The Union Budget today is looked upon very optimistically to provide relief to common man, and sops for FMCGs with a stress on infrastructure & power. The action in Nifty may build around noon today. There may be high volatility which can be utilized for profit-taking/booking, while the dramatic lows in some sectors may present good entry points.

  • Crude Oil is at $ 97.88 per barrel.
  • USD vs INR is at  Rs.45.355.
  • Nifty may be very volatile today on account of budget. Closing may be near  the highs.
  • Expected High/Low 5510,5450/ 5250,5200.

During the Market:


03.50 pm. Nifty recovered and also made a last substantial move in the last hour of the trade. Nifty finally closed in green at 5303 adding 40 points over last close. Advance/Decline ratio stood at 29/21 and looked very optimistic. The major gainers were ICICIBANK, ITC, TATAMOTORS, SBIN & AXISBANK, while the major losers were M&M, HINDALCO, HDFCBANK, STER & RELINFRA. Banking stocks were in the limelight on account of news for infrastructure outlays in Budget.          

02.31 pm.
Nifty dipped to form a new low for the day at 5232 but then again swung back quickly to 5300+ levels. These are the excellent opportunities offered for buying and are rare.           

11.37 am.
Just before the Railway Budget Nifty is making efforts to remain around 5300 mark. The high point so far touched by Nifty is 5326. The Advance/Decline ratio is also positive at 29/21. The major gainers are ICICIBANK, ITC, SBIN, TATAMOTORS & RELIANCE, while the major losers are HINDALCO, TATAPOWER, STER, M&M & TCS. The fears of oil prices will subside once the Libyan crisis is resolved as forward positions taken in crude oil will be squared off. Then on coming Monday the Union Budget will also make efforts to find an equilibrium between growth & inflation. (Recommended reading: Stagflation and Indian Economy)                

10.11 am.
Nifty is currently trading at 5310, with Advance/Decline ratio at 33/17. The major gainers are ICICIBANK, ITC, RELIANCE, SBIN & HDFC, while the major losers are TCS, HINDALCO, HINDUNILVR, MARUTI & TATAPOWER.  Nifty opened positive at 5321 but was unable to sustain the level and made a low of 5263, giving an opportunity to enter the markets.


Pre-Market Analysis 08.30 am.

  • Global & National cues are negative but Asian markets are resilient.
  • Crude Oil is at $ 97.32 per barrel, it has touched $120 briefly.
  • USD vs INR is at  Rs.45.38.
  • Nifty may continue to trade sideways, in a band of 5250-5350. Closing may be near highs.
  • Expected High/Low 5350,5290/ 5250,5230.
  • Wait & watch. Buy at levels of 5250.

During the Market:


03.45 pm. Nifty finally closed at 5262 after stooping down to 5242, it lost a whopping 174 points, but at that level buying started. The 5250 is very strong support level. The Advance/Decline ratio at close dropped to 3/46. Banking sector sagged the most followed by Auto, Capital Goods & Reality.This was a very good opportunity to enter the market, if tomorrow Nifty dips again around or below 5250 levels one can be in buying mode for IT & Infrastructure stocks. The three stocks which were gainers were HEROHONDA, CAIRN & SUZLON, while all the other stocks of Nifty tanked the major losers were ICICIBANK, RELIANCE, LT, HDFC & INFOSYSTCH.                              

03.09 pm.
Nifty has tanked to 5251 and has even breached 5250 by touching 5248. This can be used as a very good opportunity to enter the market by buying the selected stocks like LT, ACC, TATAMOTORS, HDFC at current levels.

02.10 pm. Nifty appears heading for the support of 5250, the Advance/Decline at 4/36.

12.21 pm.
Nifty has found some support around 5350 and is attempting to stabilize. The Advance/Decline ratio is at 7/43, BHARTIARTL, HEROHONDA, DLF, CAIRN & SUNPHARMA are the major gainers, while the major losers are LT, RELIANCE, ICICIBANK, TATAMOTORS & TATASTEEL. The situation seems to improve only on Monday, 28th. Feb, 2011 when things become transparent on BUDGET presentation.                                     

11.10 am.
Nifty has also breached 5350 by making a low of 5349, Nifty buckling under selling pressure. The Advance/Decline ratio is dismal at 6/44, the gainers are BHARTIARTL, HEROHONDA, CAIRN, DLF, SUNPHARMA & ACC, while the major losers are LT, RELIANCE, ICICIBANK, HDFC & TATAMOTORS. Libyan unrest is taking its toll as the oil supply from Africa is cut-off, raising the oil price which in turn is bound to increase inflation. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has already raised interest interest rates seventeen times in this financial year (March 2010-February 2011) in a bid to curb inflation. The rising interest rates are bound to effect the growth.  

10.18 am.
Nifty has breached an important level of 5400 and is headed south. Its trading at 9381 with Advance/Decline ratio tumbling to 12/38. The selling pressure is eminent in all sectors. The major marginal gainers are BHARTIARTL, HEROHONDA, ITC, CAIRN & WIPRO, while the major losers LT, INFOSYSTCH,  RELIANCE
, ICICIBANK & TATAMOTORS.               

09.30 am.
Nifty has opened soft at 5408 as per the weak global cues and rise in crude oil. After touching 5423, its trading at 5411. The Advance/Decline ratio stands weak at 18/32. The major gainers are BHARTIARTL, HEROHONDA, SBIN, BHEL & GAIL, while the major losers are INFOSYSTCH, LT, ICICIBANK, RELIANCE & ONGC.

  • USD vs INR has slipped to Rs.45.265.
  • Nifty may continue to trade dominantly sideways, some recovery towards the end.

Post-Market Analysis :

Today, the Nifty closed at 5437 down by 31 points, after remaining nearly flat for daylong, but during last hour of the trade selling pressure mounted and Nifty ended in red. The Advance/Decline ratio tipped to 19/31, the major gainers were RELIANCE, RELINFRA, HEROHONDA, HDFC & DRREDDY, while the major losers were INFOSYSTCH, SBIN, ICICIBANK, HDFCBANK & TCS. Banks were the worst sufferers today, followed by IT, INFRA & REALITY. The Pre-Budget markets may be unpredictable till 28th.February, the day on which the UPA government will present the budget.

Pre-Market Analysis 08.30 am.

  • Global & National cues are positive.
  • Crude Oil has risen to $ 86.42 per barrel.
  • USD vs INR has slipped to Rs.45.23.
  • Nifty may continue to be volatile and may close higher .
  • Expected High/Low 5650,5615/ 5460.
  • Book some of the profits above 5600.

During the Market:


10.49 am. Nifty is slowly losing the gains and has come down to 5562 after making a low of 5555. The Advance/Decline ratio has come down to 18/21. The major gainers being HDFCBANK, INFOSYSTCH, TCS, HINDUNILVR & HDFC, while the major losers are LT, ICICIBANK, TATASTEEL, TATAMOTORS & ONGC. A word of caution: next week on 24th. there is monthly settlement as well the last few days to Budget, so lot of upheavals may be in-store, so, one should be smart enough to convert some of the paper profits.      

09.35 am. Today Nifty as per the global cues and national cues opened with a positive gap at 5557 and is currently going strong at 5582. The Advance/Decline ratio stands at 39/10 with SUZLON absolutely flat. The major gainers are HDFCBANK, RELIANCE, ICICIBANK, HDFC & LT, while the major losers are BHARTIARTL, TCS, M&M, CAIRN & HCLTECH.

During the Market:

03.40 pm. Today was one of the good days in anticipation of forthcoming budget, Nifty rallied to close at 5546, with Banking and Capital-Goods sectors outperforming. The high point of the day was 5553 and low was 5463. The Advance/Decline ratio at close was 35/14 with POWERGRID remaining flat. The major gainers of the day were HDFCBANK, HDFC, LT, RELIANCE & BHARTIARTL, while the top losers were WIPRO, GAIL, ONGC, HINDUNLVR & HCLTECH.                                      

03.25 pm. Suggestion:
One should aim at booking profit during this pre-budget rallies as the 200 EMA(Exponential Moving Average) has been breached by Nifty in all likelihood there is bear market lurking ahead. So, book some profits during these rallies before budget and play safe.                          

03.07 pm.
Nifty is trading around the high point of the day at 5547 and Advance/Decline appears firm at 37/12 with 1 stock flat. The major gainers are HDFCBANK, HDFC, LT, RELIANCE & BHARTIARTL, while the major losers are WIPRO, ONGC, GAIL, HINDUNILVR & HCLTECH. In the pre-budget expectation, people seem to rely more on Banks, Capital Goods & Infrastructure stocks.  

02.26 pm.
Nifty has made a new high for the day at 5550, currently its trading with strength at 5546. The Advance/Decline is at 38/9 with 3 stocks flat. HDFCBANK,
HDFC, LT, ICICIBANK & BHARTIARTL are the major gainers, while the major losers are GAIL, ONGC, WIPRO, HINDUNILVR & HCLTECH. All the sectors are growing and supporting with Banks and Capital goods leading. Europe is also trading higher for the third consecutive day. Fortis International Center for Robotic Surgery, a state of art center for robotic surgery for heart is to come up at New Delhi.

01.50 pm. Suddenly there is downpour of good-news all-around.
What a coincidence, after such a helpless PM's TV interview yesterday evening ! The food inflation falls sharply, Govt. plans to infuse 12 and half billion in public sector banks, ISRO and DEVAS telecom deal has been scrapped by Govt. Nifty has also rallied to a high of 5544 well supported mainly by banks. At present Nifty is trading at 5537 with Advance/Decline ratio at 37/11. The major gainers are HDFCBANK, HDFC, LT, ICICIBANK & TATASTEEL, while the top losers losing very marginally are GAIL, ONGC, HINDUNILVR, WIPRO & HCLTECH.           


11.40 am.
Nifty has crossed 5500 mark and is trading at 5504. The Advance/Decline ratio has also climbed to 34/16. The major gainers are HDFC, GDFCBANK, BHARTIARTL, TCS & TATASTEEL, while the major losers are ICICIBANK, ITC, GAIL, ONGC & HINDUNILVR. If Nifty holds on and closes above 5530 a new target can be seen.              


10.54 am.
Nifty is trading flat at 5483, the Advance/Decline is also flat at 24/26. The another day of lackluster trading. 


09.55 am.
Nifty has touched a low of 5464 and Advance/Decline has become negative at 17/33. The major gainers are HDFC, BHARTIARTL, HDFCBANK, INFOSYSTCH & TATASTEEL, while the major losers are ICICIBANK, RELIANCE, ITC, LT & ONGC. In India SCAMS are by default that shakes investors confidence, the worst part is involvement of top policy makers of the country.

ifty is trading at 5478 after opening with a positive gap at 5501 and thereafter making a low of 5471. The Advance/Decline ratio is soft at 21/29, with major gainers being INFOSYSTCH, HDFC, BHARTIARTL, HDFCBANK & M&M, while the top losers are RELIANCE, ICICIBANK, ITC, LT & TATAMOTORS. The shares of Anil Ambani group are in focus because of questioning of Anil Ambani by CBI over 2G-Scam. RELIANCE stocks are also down. Nifty is expected to be range-bound and mostly flat.

03.44 pm. Nifty finally closed for the day at 5481, perfectly flat. Throughout the day it was just moving in the range of 20 points plus-minus around the previous close, this was true for most of the scrips. The Advance/Decline ratio at close stood at 22/27 while BPCL was perfect flat. The top gainers were TATASTEEL, LT, JINDALSTEL, JPASSOCIAT & WIPRO, while the major losers were HDFC, M&M, HDFCBANK, ICICIBANK & ONGC.

03.04 pm. Nifty after retouching a high of 5504 dropped below the previous close and is moving at 5478. The Advance/Decline ratio has remained nearly flat. The major gainers are LT, TATASTEEL, JINDALSTEL, RELIANCE & WIPRO, while the major losers are HDFC, HDFCBANK, M&M, ONGC & DRREDDY.

01.58 pm. Nifty is range-bound, it has made a high of 5504 and a low of 5460. Nifty is currently trading at 5483 and the Advance/Decline ratio is poised at 25/25. The shares of UNITECH shot up nearly 9%, yesterday its shares were down by 47%, the company is charged in 2G Scam. The top gainers as of now are LT, TATASTEEL, RELIANCE, JINDALSTEL & AXISBANK, while the top losers are HDFC, M&M, HDFCBANK, TATAMOTORS & IDFC. UK's FTSE has opened marginally positive.

10.20 am. Nifty is at 5492 and is moving in a range of 5470-5500. The Advance/Decline is also alternately tipping marginally positive and negative. LT, TATASTEEL, RELIANCE, JINDALSTEL & AXISBANK are major gainers, while the major losers are HDFC, INFOSYSTCH, TCS, TATAMOTORS & M&M.
       
09.42 am. Nifty opened lower at 5467 and has made a high of 5497, the starting of Nifty is indicative of sideways movement and consolidation. The Advance/Decline ratio also nearly flat at 23/27. The major gainers are RELIANCE, TATASTEEL, LT, ITC & JINDALSTEL, while the major losers are HDFC, ICICIBANK, INFOSYSTCH, TCS & M&M.

Pre-Market Analysis 08.30 am.

  • Global cues are positive.
  • Crude Oil has dropped to $ 85.05 per barrel.
  • USD vs INR has marginally slipped to Rs.45.47
  • Nifty may open high but may close lower than opening.
  • Expected High/Low 5500,5470/ 5350,5270.
  • Cautiously buy at day's low for short term. Convert some profits at days high.

During the Market:

09.39 am. Nifty has opened high at 5467 but came down. Nifty has made a low of 5437 and is weak at the moment. The Advance/Decline ratio stands at 17/33, the major gainers are INFOSYSTCH, RELIANCE, ICICIBANK, TATAPOWER & GAIL, while the major losers are LT, M&M, HDFC, TCS & BHEL. The fresh entry may be avoided for the time being as the Nifty is becoming heavy.

10.23 am. Nifty is below the previous day close at 5438. Not much is expected is expected to change, moreover this may prove to be consolidation session at the current levels. The Advance/Decline is at 16/34, the top gainers being RELIANCE, TATAPOWER, ICICIBANK, BAJAJAUTO & INFOSYSTCH, while the top losers are TCS, LT, M&M, BHEL & HINDALCO. Some fireworks are expected in late afternoon session.

12.51 pm. Nifty is at 5485 after touching a high of 4591. Nifty after dropping to 5408 started a steady climb from 11am. onwards. The Advance/Decline has risen to 30/20, the major gainers are ICICIBANK, RELIANCE, SBIN, HDFC & TATAMOTORS, while the major losers are LT, TCS, M&M, BHEL & HINDALCO. The stock of BAJAJAUTO has surged to Rs.1313, with the announcement from the company that it will split the existing one share into five shares.

01.46 pm. Nifty at 5483 and Advance/Decline improving to 33/17. The Volatility is on the rise. The European market has opened and is marginally trading in red. SEBI the market regulator has installed a new data processing unit that will not only speed up the data analysis but will also help to identify insider trading.

 
     
02.28 pm. Nifty is moving from strength to strength, it has touched a new high of 5500 for the day. Reliance group as a whole is recovering fast and is pushing up the Nifty. The Advance/Decline is stable at 30/20, with top gainers being RELIANCE, ICICIBANK, SBIN, HDFC & TATAMOTORS, while the top losers are TCS, LT, M&M, BHEL & HINDALCO.

03.01 pm. Nifty is trading comfortably after moderate gains at 5498 and has made a high of 5506. The Advance/Decline ratio now is 32/18, the top gainers being RELIANCE, ICICIBANK, TATAMOTORS, SBIN & HDFC, while the major losers are LT, HINDALCO, TCS, BHEL & M&M. It appears that Nifty may close near the day's high.

              

03.45 pm. It was a moderate day for Nifty but volatility was evident. Nifty closed at 5481, which is a good performance after two consecutive days of good gains (+250 points). The star performers of the day were RELIANCE & ICICIBANK. The Advance/Decline ratio at the end of session was moderately positive at 29/20. The major gainers of the session were RELIANCE, ICICIBANK, SBIN, TATAMOTORS & HDFC, while the top losers were LT, BHEL, HINDALCO, TCS & M&M.

Pre-Market Analysis 08.30 am.

  • Global cues are positive.
  • Crude Oil has dropped to $ 85.28 per barrel.
  • USD vs INR has marginally slipped to Rs.45.625
  • Nifty may open high and close high but there may be high volatility. The day's low be higher than previous opening, somewhere near 5270.
  • Expected High/Low 5390,5360,5320/ 5270, 5250.
  • This is the time concentrate on specific fundamentally strong stocks.

 

During the Market:

09.25 am. Nifty has opened high at 5340 and has made a high of 5373, its currently trading near the highs. The major gainers are ICICIBANK, TATAMOTORS, INFOSYSTCH, LT & TATASTEEL, while the major losers are RELIANCE, HINDALCO, RCOM, RELINFRA & SIEMENS.

10.10 am. Nifty at 5370 and appears very optimistic. It is well supported by global cues. Nifty has made a high of 5387 and is showing strength of climbing up further. The major gainers are LT, TATAMOTORS, ICICIBANK, SBIN & TATASTEEL, while the major losers are RELIANCE, RCOM, SIEMENS, SUNPHARMA & RELINFRA.The Ambani brother's infighting is costing both the brothers in billions.

11.00 am. Nifty is at 5392 after touching 5400 mark. Chinese bourses are also performing well above 2 %. In Nifty only three shares are performing in the red namely RELIANCE, RCOM & SIEMENS, rest all the 47 shares are in the green being led by ICICIBANK, LT, TATAMOTORS, SBIN & HDFC.

11.55 am. Nifty has touched 5430 and still going strong, it has made the short-sellers scramble to square-up thereby further fueling the rally. Now except DLF all other Nifty stocks are in green led by LT, ICICIBANK, TATAMOTORS, HDFC & SBIN.

01.42 pm. Nifty is trading at 5442 after making a high of 5448. Now the volatility may surface as the bears who have been roughed up were keeping silent since morning and gathering strength to attack in the last hour or so. Caution should be stepped up, but the closing would be definitely handsome. The major gainers are LT, ICICBANK, SBIN, TATAMOTORS & INFOSYSTCH, while the four stocks down are RELIANCE, SIEMENS, RCOM & ACC, thus the advance/decline ratio stands at 46/4.

02.33 pm. Nifty has held its gains till now and appears strong at 5439. The Advance/Decline is at 48/2, he only stocks in red are SIEMENS & RCOM, while LT, ICICIBANK, SBIN, INFOSYSTCH & TATAMOTORS continue to lead the gainers.

03.08 pm. Nifty has not only held its gain so far but also bettered it. It has made a new high at 5460 and is currently trading at 5455. The Advance/Decline has little changed to 47/3. The major gainers are LT, ICICIBANK, INFOSYSTCH, SBIN, & HDFC, while the only three losers are DLF, RCOM & SIEMENS.

Nifty closes for the day near its high at 5456 with a gain of 146 points with buying returning in all sectors. This was for the second consecutive day the Nifty gained. Throughout the day Nifty moved from strength to strength and continued its rally without falling back. The Advance/Decline ratio closed at a robust 48/2. The major gainers were
LT, ICICIBANK, INFOSYSTCH, SBIN, & HDFC and the two losers were DLF & SIEMENS.

10.05 am. Nifty is trading at 5227 after opening slightly lower at 5219. It has made a high of 5248 and is expected to recoup some of the losses today.ICICIBANK, HDFC, LT, TATAMOTORS & CAIRN are the major stocks supporting the NSE while TCS, RELIANCE, ONGC, HINDALCO & INFOSYSTCH are the major stocks weighing negatively on the NSE. Auto stocks are the best performing sector.

11.25 am. Nifty is in the negative territory and weak at 5205, it has made a low of 5197 equaling a low made yesterday. The major stocks in positive are HDFC, ICICIBANK, LT, IDFC & CAIRN, while the major losers are TS, TATASTEEL, HINDALCO, RELIANCE & BHARTIARTL.

12.32 pm. Nifty after making a new low of 5177 has recuperated to 5190 level, still making efforts to stage a comeback.

02.02 pm. Nifty has recovered to 5248. The major stocks helping the Nifty are HDFC, ICICIBANK, LT, HDFCBANK & IDFC, while the major losers are TATASTEEL, HINDALCO, INFOSYSTCH, BHARTIARTL & TCS. One can invest cautiously in TATASTEEL around 560, GAIL at 430, ITC at 155 for mid-term.

02.47 pm. Nifty has rallied up to touch 5293 and is being helped by stocks of HDFC, ICICIBANK, LT, RELIANCE & SBIN, while out of 17 stocks going south the major are GAIL, HINDALCO, TATASTEEL, INFOSYSTCH & BHARTIARTL.

03.46 pm. Nifty today had a nice day and clocked 84 points plus, it closed at 5310. After touching a nerving 5177, Nifty gathered enough momentum and sharply climbed to 5310. The major gainers in today's session were ICICIBANK, LT, HDFC, SBIN & RELIANCE out of 34 stocks gaining, while 16 stocks were down the major among them being HINDALCO, INFOSYSTCH, ITC, BHARTIARTL & HINDUNILVR. Nifty recovered today in-spite of Index for Industrial Product (IIP) for December 2010 at 1.6%. In today's trade Mid-cap and small-cap have contributed handsomely.

Pre-Market Analysis 08.30 am.

  • Global cues are negative.
  • Crude Oil is at $ 86.88 per barrel, a positive signal.
  • USD vs INR nearly stationary at  Rs.45.565
  • Experts believe that the rumor mongering against Anil Ambani's Group of companies was responsible for the recent unacceptable Nifty's downfall. This sort business rivalry was never seen before in Indian markets. Nifty may stage recovery as buying may take place from these lows.

During the Market:

09.20 am. Nifty opens at 5246 and touched a high of 5272, at present is trading at 5259 with high volatility. The short covering is largely responsible further fresh buying is also taking place at these levels. The major gainers are ITC, ICICBANK, RELINFRA, HDFC & IDFC, while the major losers are INFOSYSTCH, BHARTIARTL, STER, LT & SBIN.

10.40 am. Nifty after a big sell off yesterday panicked by misinformation campaign with vested interest, is trying to stabilize. Anil Ambani's Group of companies are recovering today. Nifty is trading low at 5231 but much sensibly. The major gainers are ITC, ICICIBANK, RELINFRA, SAIL & TATAMOTORS, while the major losers are SBIN, INFOSYSTCH, BHARTIARTL, HDFC & RELIANCE. Anil Ambani has stated that due to illegal and vicious sell-off yesterday his group of companies have lost $2.6 billion, this sort of targeted misinformation campaign is being inquired into by SEBI.

During the Market:

09.20 am. Nifty opens with a downward gap at 5293 and dips to 5273, but may come in positive very soon as buying may start at these levels. The major leaders are RELIANCE, M&M, ONGC, HDFC & SUNPHARMA, whilw the major losers are ICICIBANK, TATAMOTORS, BHARTIARTL, LT & ITC.

10.57 am. Nifty after making a high of 5339 is trading positively at 5329. The major gainers are RELIANCE, ICICIBANK, HDFC, M&M & HDFCBANK, while the major losers are ITC, INFOSYSTCH, BHEL, HINDALCO & SBIN. Buying started at lows and is helping Nifty to regain the lost ground.

 12.30 pm. Nifty is just keeping afloat the previous close at 5315. If for another hour it is unable to climb up it may be hammered down.

 02.45 pm. Nifty has broken the psychological barrier of 5250 and has been under tremendous selling pressure for another consecutive day. Now it is expected to go down further.

03.45 pm. Nifty finally closed at 5253 after touching a low of 5225. Now the Nifty must find the bottom and this may be the last slippage, from here the buying must start. The major gainers were HDFC, INFOSYSTCH, M&M, HDFCBANK & ICICIBANK, while the major losers were HINDALCO, RELINFRA, BHEL, SBIN & TCS.

  • Nifty may continue consolidation with predominantly sideways movement. Not much change expected, closing can be better.

  • Enter at day's low.

During the Market:

09.20 am. Nifty opened with a positive gap at 5432 but could not sustain and has come down to 5405 after making a low of 5399. The major stocks leading are INFOSYSTCH, HDFCBANK, HDFC, BHARTIARTL & SBIN, while the major stocks trying to pull Nifty down are ONGC, RELIANCE, SUNPHARMA, TCS & LT.

10.31 am. Nifty at 5385, moving listlessly around previous close.


 02.03 pm. Nifty is trading weak at around 5350, lets see whether it can defend this level in the last hour when the action may take place.

03.49 pm. Nifty tanked to make a low of 5303 before closing at 5312 losing 83 points over previous close. All the sectors were losers, none could withstand the selling pressure. The biggest losers were ICICIBANK, RELIANCE, ONGC, M&M & LT, while the major stocks which could barely perform positive were INFOSYSTCH, BAJAJAUTO, TATAPOWER, HINDALCO & CIPLA. Nifty has fallen to July'10 levels and is still considered weak. Nifty may exhibit some resistance with chances of recovery from this level.

During the Market:

09.38 am. Nifty opened with a gap of 45+ points up at 5430, making a high of 5431 it went down to 5385. Its now retraced back to 5424. The major gainers are INFOSYSTCH, ITC, HDFCBANK, RELIANCE & BHARTIARTL, while the major losers are ICICIBANK, HINDALCO, CIPLA, IDFC & GAIL. In the absence of any positive news a dull day ahead is expected.

01.58 pm. Nifty is trading in a tight range at 5415. The major gainers are ITC, INFOSYSTCH, RELIANCE, HDFCBANK & HEROHONDA, while the major losers are LT, ICICIBANK, TCS, WIPRO & GAIL. The listless trading may continue till the penultimate hour when some action may take place.

02.45 pm. Nifty in the last hour of the trade gathered some steam and made a high of 5440. The major helpers for this feat are ITC, INFOSYSTCH, RELIANCE, HDFCBANK & SBIN, while the top losers are LT, ICICIBANK, HDFC, WIPRO & CIPLA.

 
03.25 pm. Nifty showed some volatility in the last hour of the session, it made a high of 5440 and a low of 5376, finally to come off flat to trade just above the previous close at 5404.

03.45 pm. Nifty finally closed flat at 5396 after a daylong listless session. The major gainers were INFOSYSTCH, ITC, RELIANCE, HDFCBANK & SBIN, while the major losers were ICICIBANK, LT, HDFC, TCS & WIPRO.

Pre-Market Analysis 08.30 am.

  • Crude Oil is at $ 90.91 per barrel.

  • Nifty may move sideways and continue consolidation.
  • Expected High/Low 5590,5550/5450,5430
  • Time to enter cautiously & selectively for short term.

During the Market:

 09.38 am. Nifty opened with a gap down at 5519 and made a low of 5502. Since then Nifty is trying to be near the previous close, the major positive contributors are TATASTEEL, TATAMOTORS, SBIN, HINDALCO & IDFC, while the major losers are RELIANCE, LT, INFOSYSTCH, TCS and M&M. Nifty may continue to consolidate with positive bias.         

11.00 am. Nifty at 5540 and has made a high of 5556. A very cautious approach is need of the hour, as another bout of FII outflows near 5600+ are not ruled out. It provide an opportunity for those investors who have entered in recent lows to book profit.

 01.10 pm. Nifty caved under profit booking and dropped to 5439, now it is trading at 5448. The major losers are RELIANCE, INFOSYSTCH, ICICIBANK, LT and TCS, the same set of heavyweights which were responsible for Nifty's recovery yesterday.

02.33 pm.  Nifty has made a low of 5431 and battering at 5440 losing all the gains of previous session. RELIANCE, ICICIBANK, LT, INFOSYSTCH & ITC the major losers, while BAJAJAUTO, TATAMOTORS, TATASTEEL, SBIN & ONGC are major gainers.

03.06 pm.  Nifty is under tremendous selling pressure, it will be hard the 5400 mark. The price band of Nifty is now set to 5300-5700. PM Mr.Manmohan Singh, has also expressed the urgency to tackle inflation which is a serious threat going to hurt the growth momentum of India in big way.

03.46 pm. Nifty fell to a low of 5369 before closing at 5395. The inflation is taking its toll on the stock market amidst fear of India's Growth story being hit. The selling was seen across all sectors, excepting BAJAJAUTO other major shares were losers, leading among them were LIANCE, ICICIBANK, ITC, INFOSYSTCH & LT. Now the new band for Nifty may be 5250 - 5600 for coming sessions.

  • Nifty may move sideways and continue consolidation. It will likely improve.
  • Expected High/Low 5520,5490/5450,5420
  • Time to enter cautiously for short term.

During the Market:


09.25 am. Nifty opened at 5430 and after dipping to 5418 made a high of 5442. Its now trading nearly flat around previous closing. The major stocks in green are INFOSYSTCH, HDFCBANK, SBIN, BHARTIARTL & HEROHONDA, while the major stocks in red are ITC, TCS, SUNPHARMA, JINDSTEL & IDFC. Most of the Asian markets are closed on account of  LUNAR NEW YEAR.

10.53 am. Nifty has crossed 5500 and is trading at 5509, but caution should not be thrown to air. RELIANCE, INFOSYSTCH, ICICIBANK, HDFC & LT are supporting the Nifty positively, while ACC, HCLTECH, DRREDDY, RCOM & BPCL are major stocks in the red. By close some slippage in Nifty is not ruled out.

01.30 pm. Nifty is holding on its early gains and is just moving in a tight range with strength.

03.20 pm. RELIANCE, LT, BHARTIARTL, SBIN & ICICIBANK are major gainers and heavyweights helping Nifty to hold-on at around 5530, while the major losers are DRREDDY, HCLTECH,
ACC, IDFC & TCS.

03.45 pm. It was a good day for Nifty, after early gains it just held on to 5500+ level.
Nifty in the early hours of the trade had made a low of 5418 but that was last, from there it gained to 5500+ levels and maintained it throughout the day. The high point of Nifty was 5532 and the closing was also near the highs at 5526. The major gainers were
RELIANCE, LT, BHARTIARTL, SBIN & ICICIBANK and the major losers were  HCLTECH, DRREDDY, ACC, BAJAJAUTO & IDFC.

Pre Market Analysis 08.30 am.

  • Global cues are positive, but national cues are depressive.
  • Crude Oil has improved to $ 90.90 per barrel.
  • USD vs INR slipped to Rs.45.51.
  • Nifty may consolidate and also improve.
  • Expected High/Low 5490,5450/5405,5360
  • Time to enter for short term.

During the Market: 

09.45 am. Nifty opened with a positive at 5469 at par with global cues, but after making a high of 5478 its losing ground. At present its trading at 5455 and appears positive. The stocks helping the Nifty are RELIANCE, INFOSYSTCH, ICICIBANK, TCS & BHARTIARTL while the stocks pulling Nifty down are TATASTEEL, HDFC, AXISBANK, NTPC & DRREDDY. Nifty is expected to consolidate and improve as its drastically oversold.

10.58 am. Nifty has touched 5489, supported well by RELIANCE, INFOSYSTCH, ICICIBANK, TCS & TATAMOTORS, while the major losers are HDFC, AXISBANK, PNB, NTPC & ACC. Asian markets are positive and lending confidence.

01.05 pm. Nifty is holding on to its early morning gains and is moving in a narrow range. The major movers are TCS, BPCL, TATAMOTORS, RELIANCE & STER, while MARUTI, PNB, HDFC, NTPC & TATAPOWER are major losers. The lurking fear of slowing down of earnings is not over. Caution is word for the day.

02.52 pm. Nifty is at 4564 and has maintained the lead throughout the day. It has moved sideways  touching a high 5490. The major contributors to the performance till now are TATAMOTORS, DLF, RELIANCE, TCS & HCLTECH, while the major losers are HEROHOND, NTPC, PNB, MARUTI & HDFC.

03.40 pm. Nifty in the last half an hour stooped to a days low of 5415 before closing at 5432. This shows the buying stepping in at lows.  RELIANCE, TCS, ICICIBANK, TATAMOTORS & BHARTIARTL were major gainers, while HDFC, HDFCBANK, HEROHONDA, BHEL & SBIN were major losers for the day. It can be called a good day as Nifty traded the entire day in the positive territory and did not breach 5400 levels.

During the Market: 

09.25 am. Nifty after opening mildly positive at 5537 has slipped to 5491. The major gainers being HDFC, LT, STER, BHARTIARTL & AXISBANK, while the maojor stocks pulling the Nifty down are ICICIBANK, INFOSYSTCH, ITC, TCS & TATAMOTORS.  

11.24 am. Nifty is trading at 5449 after making a low of 5418. The top gainers are HDFC, ONGC, HINDALCO, SESAGOA & KOTAKBANK, while the top losers are ITC, INFOSYSTCH, LT, ICICIBANK & RELIANCE. Not much action is expected.

02.21 pm. Nifty has plunged down to touch 5403 in the last of the trade.

04.21 pm. Nifty finally closed near the days low at 5417 after touching a low of 5403.  The fear of Nifty breaching 5400 is still high.
